An Inside Heart Giggle – Part 1

The rain beats against the skylight window.

Stepping back from the table, I am satisfied.

All set, I say to myself.

028

I am anticipating the arrival of three special friends.

Waiting.

030

Waiting to fill the glasses full of fresh cold water and the tea cups with hot steamy tea.

031

Waiting for delectable’s to be scooped up with the forks set out.

033

Anticipating my guests to sit upon the chairs.

I wait.

I am looking forward to the conversation.

The laughter.

The sharing.

The gift that God has given in friendship.

I am quickly drawn to recall Jesus’ words in John 14:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.  In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you.  I am going there to prepare a place for you….” (v. 1 – 2).

I smile.

Yes.

Jesus is waiting too.

He has prepared the room….and the table….

and anticipates the arrival of his guests.

Even more delectable will be His perfect food. Isaiah 25:6 tells “…the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine – the best of meats and the finest of wines.”

He waits for us to sit upon the chairs, drink from the glasses, and bite delicious food off the forks laid out.  Conversation, laughter, and sharing for an eternity! He is all set with the preparations.

This is the greatest anticipation.  The greatest HOPE.

I pause, as I gaze upon my preparations.

I ask myself, am I all set?

Am I all set for the banquet prepared for me by the greatest Host?

Jesus said:

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.  You know the way to the place where I am going.”

John 14: 3 & 4

An inside heart giggle fills my heart. Because I know the way.

I am not only one anticipating the arrival of my friends, but I am one who is also anticipating the feast.

Truth.

Visit me tomorrow and see what I am talking about!
